Wellbeing resources

  • support for yourself

The effects of grief and trauma can show up differently in different people, and can also change over time. We’ve collated some key resources which may help you understand how you’re feeling, what you’ve experienced, and strategies to put in place which may help.

  • Supporting your friend

Being someone’s support person is really tough, especially if you are also struggling, or simply don’t know what to do to help. It’s natural that we want to look out for our mates, so we’ve put together some resources which may help you to help others.

  • Supporting your child

It is difficult to watch your children experience hardship. As a parent we would do anything to fix, repair and take away our child’s pain. The resources in this section have been gathered to assist you in supporting your child through grief and trauma. This section includes tips on communicating to younger children about traumatic events.

Apps and online tools

There are a number of apps and online tools that can help you through experiences of grief and trauma. You may find that they alone are able to provide you the support you need, or you may want to use these in conjunction with professional or other supports. We stress that everyone is different and there is no ‘right way’ to seek support.
